Thought for the day...

Whatever you may be seeking, seek it with all your strength, but do not expect your own search and efforts to bear fruit of themselves. Put your trust in the Lord, ascribing nothing to yourself, and He will give you your heart's desire.

St. Theophan the Recluse

  1. Very beautiful thought! This basically summarises our aim in life. What strikes me is the phrase '...He will give you your heart's desire' meaning that our heart truely desires Him.

And one of my favourites, 'Do not give your heart to that which does not satisfy your heart'
    ~ Abba Poimen

Haven't heard from you in a while...I hope you are well.

  2. Dear Panteli, I had a cyst on my back which became infected a few weeks ago. It grew to a ridiculous size and was pressing on my back muscles and giving me headaches. So, two weeks ago I could not take the pain any longer and I left work and went to a Doctor ... after confirming it was nothing serious (ie cancer) they agreed it had to be removed immediately. So, I had surgery and have been recovering now for a week. For a few days, just a little uncomfortable but all things are well now and healing great!!

  3. I'm glad to hear that it was not serious and you are now healing well.

Apart from that, how is everything else?

I just remembered that you asked for my e-mail. If you sent me anything, I didn't receive it.

  4. No, I asked for your email to send you an email to tell you that the reason why I have not been very active with my blog and Monachos is because of the surgery. haha. Pray for me. I have been on a spiritual low since about the start of the Great Lent ... I need repentance to burn in my heart so I can go for confession.

    V.
